WEDDING SERIES : Indian Wedding Planning | Irfan&Shumaila
Finally blogging, a whole year later...
I hope to get into blogging and become consistent. Sometimes I am really into it, plan out a blog post but then get too busy, forget about it or just get to lazy to upload it.
This first post will be of something that is taking up most of my life right now; wedding planning.
It is so stressful, complicated, crazy but lots of fun. There is so much to get done and I still feel like I will forget to do everything. I sometimes don't know how or where to begin, and sometimes I find myself doing a lot at once. To keep myself on track I have not 1, not 2, but 3 wedding books. I know, I know... I sound crazy. Let me explain.
We've all heard how crazy Indian weddings can get, there are multiple events and there isn't just a wedding day, we have a wedding WEEK. So I don't have to just plan for one dress, one venue, one menu.. no. There is multiples of everything. This is why I feel that I need more than just one planner.
Since I got engaged, my friends have gifted me with these books. One was supposed to be more of a joke, but it has come in handy and now I use them all.
The same friend also gifted me with this beautiful, personalized book below. This book is a pile up of vendor information, brainstorming and inspiration (pictures from the internet, written and drawn). This has been the book I have been using the most so far since it's perfect for the initial stages of putting all ideas together, starting to organize them and my interactions with different vendors.
This last book is only for the wedding day and reception. It asks questions about every single detail regarding the wedding day, from early morning till the end of the reception. It makes me think about things I wouldn't even have thought of, such as travel information for not only the bride and the brides family but also the bridesmaids and much more. This one looks as if it will be extremely useful closer to the wedding, maybe when I am about a month or two away from the big day.
I am really overwhelmed with the thought of the wedding but getting a bit organized is helping me relax a bit since I now know that I will be more prepared with these books. Let me know of any other organizational ideas that are wedding related!
Here are the three together... my lifesavers <3
The one below is the one that was for jokes, when I first got engaged. As you can see, this one I have split up into sections using sticky notes, The first five sticky notes represent each wedding event; then there are two sticky notes that are for gift ideas (one for family, one for him). These sections will have all the final details about each event; number of invites, menu, outfit info, decor info, event program etc. Details will be entered in this book after decisions and deposits have been made.
