Review: YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint Foundation

Hey guys!

Todays post is a review on the foundation I wore the most this past summer! I bought the YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation in May of this year and I think I only switched this foundation out for a different one a handful of times since! It was a great foundation for the summer, for many reasons.

Coverage It is meant to be a full coverage foundation but I would say that the foundation is low to medium coverage. You can build it up on the skin quite a bit and although it isnt full coverage the finish is a beautiful slight satin/slight glowy finish. It layers on very well on its own and with concealer. It worked well with most of the concealers I used with it, but especially with my Nars Creamy Matte Concealer. I usually used the MAC studio Fix Powder Foundation to set it, to add more coverage.

Texture My skin is quite dry, with my T zone getting oily after a few hours of wearing foundation. I would say that even without a primer this foundation looks beautiful and wears quite well as long as it is powdered. The foundation is very thin, it is almost runny.

I use about 3 pumps for my face, above is two pumps

Did it last? Through out the day the foundation just seemed to look better and better on my skin for some reason. Magic, I would say. It was a very light weight foundation, making it ideal for the warm summer season. It was the only foundation I took with me on vacay as well, whereas I usually take about 2/3 foundations all with different finishes/coverage. As mentioned before, I did use the MAC powder to set the foundation and I am sure that the powder helped to keep the foundation looking flawless longer.

Colour I bought the foundation at the airport and they only carries about 6 shades. Online and in most stores they carry 22 shades, with different undertones. My shade is B 4

0 Sand, it has a warm undertone and suits my skin tone perfectly, when I am not too tanned. To help you compare, I am the in the middle of the shades NC 30/35 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid and the powder foundations.

Flash Test The foundation had a lot of flashback, I looked so pale in photos with flash photography while wearing this foundation! This foundation does have an SPF of 22, as we know, SPF genarally causes flashback!

No flash
With flash

Overall, I am very happy with this foundation. For me, the only downside would be the flashback but to be honest I dont usually use flash when taking photos, and if I do it would probably be on date night or a girls night where I would most likely be wearing a full coverage foundation anyways!

Have you tried this foundation? If so what are your thoughts?
