ShumisTravels: Honeymoon Experience in BALI

This past August my husband, Irfan, and I went to Bali for our honeymoon and it was amazing! Bali is so beautiful and I wanted to vlog our trip but since it was our honeymoon we decided to just relax and enjoy it. All the halal food options and the completely private villas are every muslim couple’s DREAM.

Quick trip tip: let everyone know that you are on your honeymoon and they will always make the experience that much better! We received freebies and special treatment on the planes and the villas we were at. I am sure we would have at all the restaurants we visited too! Its a great way to make your trip special and exciting!

Before our trip I looked around online and could only find specific villa/resort/restaurant reviews but not anyone else’s experience in Bali. As there isn’t much online, I wanted to add my own experience online, hopefully it helps someone and if not, I hope you enjoy the read & photos!

We looked long and hard to find the perfect place to stay and we were very happy with our choices. We knew we wanted to stay in Seminyak the entire time as most of the beaches are there. There is more sight seeing to do near Ubud, but we were mostly just interested in relaxing by the beach. 

A private pool was what we wanted more from our villa, so both places had totally private pools. The first place we stayed for the first half of our honeymoon was The Ahimsa, this villa was super romantic and almost the whole villa was outdoors, other than the bedroom. We had chefs come and cook us breakfast every morning in our kitchen. We also had dinner cooked for us one night and they decorated the villa beautifully. So so so romantic!

The second place we stayed at was the wonderfully modern Hu’u Villa. This place was a dream, it was so minimalist, spacious and there was so much light in the villa, I loved it! This villa was more of a 2-story loft style villa. It was really comfortable and had really cool gadgets like an amazing sound system that we plugged our music into while swimming (fave thing to do)!

The great thing about Bali is that there are many halal places to eat. Plus, most of these places have the tastiest mocktails, since they want to cater to muslims. There is also loads of sea food restaurants all around since Bali is an island. Some of our favourites were the restaurant at Prana Spa, Jemme Jewelry and Dining (gorgeous ambiance and great sea food!) and my own personal favourite; McDonalds haha! The McSpicy was so tasty, we couldn’t have enough. 

Hu'u had really yummy room service as well, I had their steak about 3 times.... And just wish I had it more often #noshame.

On the last day we tried out 'TIIGO Restaurant' which was right next to Hu'u, where we were staying. This place had the yummiest menu. We ordered way too much, def not a good idea what we had to take a long haul flight right after, but still worth it. 

We spent some time sight seeing. We went to Kintamani, Kuta beach, Seminyak Village, The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Tegallalang Rice Terraces, Tanah Lot Temple and loads more. My favourite thing was going to eat at Kintamani, with the gorgeous views of the volcanoes.

A few things I wish we did, that future travellers might want to look into; visiting the Ugung Rai Museum of Art, Bali Zoo or White Water Rafting! 

One of the most memorable and relaxing things we did was spend our day at Prana Spa. The Spa had a gorgeous Moroccan theme and made me feel like I was Jasmine from Aladdin! The service was amazing, the place and the spa itself was just the best experience. 

The Spa package we got was ‘Jewel of the Nile’. This included Egyptian Foot Cleansing, Gold Infused Royal Massage, Precious Stone Alignment, Genuine Pearl Facial, Crown Therapy, Cleopatra Milk Bath and was in the private suite. We preferred to do the Black Moroccan Herbal Bath instead of the Cleopatra Milk Bath since we weren’t comfortable with wasting milk. We also got the massages in different rooms so that Irfan was with a male masseuse and I was with a female. The staff were amazing with letting us make a few changes and were very accommodating to our religious needs. 

I would go back to Bali just to go back to this spa haha! We wish they would bring it over to the UK.

Overall these were the highlights of our trip, there was definitely much more we could have done, Bali is a gorgeous tourist destination. It had everything, places to relax, have some adventure, great sightseeing and amazing food.
