SHUMIS TRAVELS | My Yellow Polka Dot Burkini

Hello Lovelies,

As you may already know, I just went on vacay to Fethiye, Turkey. We stayed at Tui Sensatori Fethiye, the place was gorgeous, the food was yummy and the people were so friendly! However, my favourite part of the trip was the beach, the pool and the warm weather. This was the first time I wore a burkini as well and that was an experience! I used to just avoid the water if it wasn't girls only or if there were any men around. I've tried wearing a t-shirt and tights but that's always made me super itchy and uncomfortable. The burkini is seriously an amazing invention and god sent for hijabis like myself!

What is a burkini? Modest swimwear!

The burkini was so comfortable, it was a good size since it was quite loose. It didn't stick to me once I was out of the water. The only thing I didn't like was the hood that was attached to it, it was not comfortable to wear, therefore I had to wear my own hijab, which can also be super uncomfortable! Halfway through my week in Turkey, I wished I had brought another burkini on vacation, but since I had never tried a burkini before I had never even thought to buy one!

A few days ago, I posted an Instagram story asking for burkini recommendations and got a few recommendations and loads of questions about my burkini experience! This is why I thought I would post my experience on here and add some of my favourite burkini options, just incase you guys were also looking. It is summertime in this part of the world after all... ;)
